3. Planning

3.1. Feasibility Report

Economic Feasibility
The initial cost of a project such as this would not be a huge investment. The website can be made extremely cost-effective by eliminating or limiting tasks which cost more money such as flash animations and forums. Operating costs can also be kept low by hosting the site on a free web-server, although a company of this size would likely have domain space already available. The cost for a new server could be as low as $10 a month. Hiring designers would not cost a significant amount of money as the project is only given a 3 week schedule.
There is little economic risk in a project of this nature, due to the low investment cost and the possibility of high rewards.
The benefits of this website would be advertisements providing income for the company. The Interactive Advertising Bureau claimed that internet advertisement revenue in the US for Jan-July 2010 was over $12 billion. Technical Feasibility
The requirements of the project are:
· A homepage which tells visitors what the website is about.
· An easy to use navigation menu.
· The specifications and ranges of the Evolution X and Lancer Ralliart need to be on the site.
· An image gallery.
· A page showing videos of the Evolution X and Lancer Ralliart.
The project therefore does not require specialised software or hardware to accomplish these requirements. The project can be made on basic web editing programs such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Office Publisher or iWeb. A high quality camera (or already made images) would also be necessary, but would not be difficult to come by from a company of this size. If one was not available, a suitable new camera could be purchased for less than $1000. The project would not need frequent updates and would require little personnel training to maintain.

Schedule Feasibility
A 3 week requirement gives sufficient time to complete the required tasks based on personnel expertise and training with the software required to make this task. The short time ensures that the website will be usable while the product is still relevant. Work will be performed during business hours and would not interfere with usual business operation. Due to the period which the work is being performed and the short schedule, holidays are not an issue for this project.

Organisational Feasibility
The organisation is large enough to adapt to this change without any problems stemming from a lack of support. The website, as it is focused on only 2 makes of cars from 9 generations of Lancers, is a rather small addition to the company and would not cause any extreme changes to the direction of the company.
